As a child, understanding rare diseases can be challenging. To help children, whether directly impacted by a rare disease or not understand the complexities of living with a rare disease, we developed a colouring in book called Harriet’s Gift.  
"Harriet's Gift is the story of a young horse who eagerly awaits the arrival of a sibling, but when the foal is born, it is a unicorn, and not the regular horse she was expecting. Harriet not only has to accept the challenges that a special needs sibling presents, but must also learn tolerance, empathy and kindness as she alters her expectations and comes to appreciate her brother's differences." 
 
Harriet’s Gift is available in downloadable PDF format and all proceeds go towards creating a better life for the 1 in 15 South Africans afflicted by a rare disease.
